THE FLASH CELEBRATES 750 ISSUES WITH FEBRUARY EVENT

Off the heels of DC Comics’s upcoming Wonder Woman anniversary celebration in January, The Flash will also be in a celebratory mood as the title will hit the landmark of 750 issues!

In February, DC will be celebrating the occasion with an 80-page prestige format book similar to Action Comics #1000 and Detective Comics #1000. At the same time, in true speedster fashion, the title will “reversing” back to #750, its legacy number, exclusively for the occasion.

Long-time series writer, Joshua Williamson, will be kicking things off full-throttle with a brand new story arc titled “The Flash Age”, with artists Rafa Sandoval and Jordi Tarragona.

“Barry Allen’s life is being torn apart by a supercharged Speed Force as the story Williamson’s been building toward since issue #50 comes to a head when a new threat appears on the horizon: the deadly Paradox,” reads DC’s description of the story. “Destined to destroy the Flash’s legacy, Paradox sends his herald, Godspeed, to trap the Flash family!”

The story won’t just end there as DC also promised new stories by featuring a host of creative teams for the giant-sized issue. Some of the creative names featured include Marv Wolfman, Geoff Johns, Bryan Hitch, Francis Manapul, Stephen Segovia, Scott Kolins, Michael Moreci, David Marquez, and Riley Rossmo.

“The Flash is one of my favorite DC characters, so it’s an honor to work on The Flash #750 with so many returning Flash legends!” said Williamson in a statement. “It’s a showcase of awesome talent, each telling a story that celebrates what we love about the Flash and the Flash family. And what a perfect place to kick off our next epic storyline “The Flash Age!” 2020 is going to be a big year for The Flash. It all starts in this massive issue.”

As with both Action Comics #1000 and Detective Comics #1000, the milestone issue will also have variants marking every decade of the character. The current line-up for the decades variants are:

  • 1940s by Nicola Scott
  • 1950s by Gary Frank
  • 1960s by Nick Derington
  • 1970s by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez
  • 1980s by Gabrielle Dell’Otto
  • 1990s by Francesco Mattina
  • 2000s by Jim Lee and Scott Williams
  • 2010s by Francis Manapul

The Flash #750 is scheduled to be in comic shops February 26, 2020 ▪
