Undiscovered Country is an apocalyptic epic set in a dystopian future version of Planet Earth. If that isn’t enough to draw you in maybe this will.

30 Years ago the United States of America sealed itself off from the rest of the world without so much as an explanation. Three Decades go by until the U.S. reaches out to the two governing bodies of the world, The Alliance Euro-Afrique and The Pan Asiatic Prosperity Zone (yes those are their names). The world outside of the United States is being plagued by a disease known as “The Sky Virus” and the U.S. seems to have a cure but in order to share the cure with the world, a select group of people will have to Journey where no one has gone for almost 30 years. Our rag tag band of diplomats make their way to the United States by helicopter but just as they are entering U.S. air space they’re shot down and from there, well, let’s just say this isn’t the U.S. we’re used to. That my friends is how we kick off this story!!

Undiscovered Country is not your run of the mill comic book story where good faces off against evil and that is evident early on in this issue. The story tackles so many issues that are prominent in today’s culture around the world. Imagine waking up tomorrow and the government is in shambles, technology is obsolete, contact with the outside world is out of your reach. Scary right? If Politics isn’t really your style maybe you can relate to the family drama in this story, or the action sequences or the suspense honestly it doesn’t matter what your interests are this series has something for everyone, it will capture your attention and leave you craving more.

The writing is phenomenal, Charles Soule and Scott Snyder are kings at crafting and fleshing out new worlds and characters. This world is brought to life by artists Giuseppe Camuncoli and Daniele Orlandini, this artwork is next level, the places and creatures they’ve dreamt up can only be described as terrifying, haunting masterpieces.

If you’re looking for something fun and exciting this is the book for you.
