In Eastward, you can discover a post-apocalyptic world. This game is an action-adventure RPG with a puzzle dungeon-like element to it. The game features John who is a hardworking miner. John discovers a girl named Sam in a secret underground place. Together they embark on a journey discovering the weird world around them. The game is filled with shady forests, bustling towns, and curious campsites for you to explore. From the looks of the game trailer, it seems to be quite the adventure! This puzzle game from Vine/Yacht Club Games resurfaces 7 years after it made its first appearance. It is quite a puzzling adventure as players recover relics and fight bosses that are both new and familiar. There are keys, potions, and treasure to grab. Ten heroes are available fresh and fast to battle head to head and fight to the bury. Use Shovel Knight Amiibo to assist you on your adventure. Pocket Dungeon is expected to come out this holiday season, sounds like a great game to stuff your stocking with!

A new take on a classic action franchise moves Metal Slug into a completely new dimension. The game retains the fan-favorite pixel elements that originally came out, but it is mashed with combat mechanics and roguelike elements. Players control familiar characters such as Marco, Tarma, Fio, and Eri in fast-paced dynamic battles. Place your troops in a tactical fashion where positioning is key to excelling in battles. Metal Slug Tactics launches in 2022, get ready to battle!

The iconic puzzle game Tetris gets a level up in Tetris Effect Connected. There is single play journey mode and competitive Zone Battle Mode which are both available locally or online and cooperative Connected mode. It also includes a competitive cross-platform multiplayer version, so you can find people to team up with or play against. You can take this game on the go as well. It comes out on October 8th, 2021.

In addition to these highlights, there was a montage of other great titles that were mentioned, such as Astoneer, Lumbear Jacks, Curious Expedition 2, Gang Beasts, and Hundred Day Wine Making Simulator.

As a huge fan of indie games, I was thrilled to see this display. It is wonderful that Nintendo is connected to all these different smaller companies giving them a huge platform and voice. Remember that Among Us was also an indie game and it is one of the most played games out there this year. I am very excited to try these games. Let us know what you think!
