Spider-Man Miles Morales

Spider-Man: Miles Morales: 10 Characters We’d Love To See Show Up In The Game

10 Major Characters We’d Love To See In Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is right around the corner with a November 12th release date to coincide with the Playstation 5 launch. The sequel to the wildly popular 2018 game has us playing as Miles Morales, who fans will remember from the first installment in this new game series, which is set in Earth-1048. We know that The Tinkerer is going to be the main antagonist in this game, but here are some more characters we would love to see show their faces. (Please note that since this game is set in a relatively new world, any versions of characters that do show up may differ from how they are portrayed on this list)

1. The Prowler

Spider-Man

The ultimate version of Prowler is Miles Morales’ uncle – Aaron Davis. Aaron was a career criminal cat burglar going by the name “Prowler”. When he broke into and stole valuable items from Oscorp, he unknowingly transported the spider that would give his nephew his Spider-powers. Prowler’s storyline ties in with The Tinkerer’s in his early days so it seems plausible that he could make an appearance in the game. His relationship with Miles also throws many spanners in the works for both of them and is a very interesting plot thread to follow. He would make a great addition to the game as an antagonist and a possible ally further down the line.

2. Chameleon

Spider-Man

Chameleon AKA Dmitri Smerdyakov, has been in Spider-Man’s adventures since day one. He is a Russian born spy with the ability to perfectly mimic the appearance of anybody he desires, this is what makes him such a tricky villain as you never know where or who he is. This would work well in the game perhaps as soon sort of side mission that has you trying to track down and figure out the identity of the villain almost like the multiplayer featured in Watchdogs (2014) that had you trying to watch for an enemy player amongst NPC’s.

3. The Hobgoblin

Spider-Man

Hobgoblin is a moniker taken by several different characters within the Marvel universe but for the sake of the article, we will discuss the original Hobgoblin – Roderick Kingsley. A scheming billionaire, Kingsley decided to turn his attentions to a life of crime, by perfecting the Goblin serum created by Norman Osbourn and upgrading his Green Goblin costume and equipment. I think Hobgoblin works as a great villain in all his appearances and is a brilliant threat to Spider-Man. His use of gadgets and the glider would make for some intense sky-high chases and fights which would make him a great fit for this game.

4. Kraven the Hunter

Spider-Man

Kraven the Hunter (Sergei Kravinoff) is one of Spider-Man’s greatest foes, appearing in many comic books and video games over the years. He is a big game hunter whose main goal is to kill Spider-Man to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. Kraven takes a mysterious serum that grants him superhuman strength and slows down the aging process. Kraven likes to take down his prey with his bare hands and loves the thrill of the fight.

Kraven could fit in the game similar to Mr. X encounters in Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019), that is that he could show up at random intervals in the game trying to hunt the player down. You have to use all your skills and tools to escape him or defeat him, knowing that he will be coming back for you at a later point in the game.

5. The Kingpin

Spider-Man

This larger-than-life villain did appear in the 2019 game already but we always love to see the big guy show up. Wilson Fisk is an absolute mountain of a man and matches up to Spider-Man’s strength and durability with ease. Kingpin is also largely responsible for most of the crime in New York which has him butting heads with Spider-man regularly. He would be a great antagonist for the game, especially given the size difference between him and Miles, he would make for some truly memorable boss fights.

6. The Fantastic Four

Spider-Man

Marvel’s first family are the first character’s created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The Fantastic Four is made up of Reed Richards, who has the power of elasticity, his wife Sue Richards who can become invisible and control force fields, her Brother Johnny Storm AKA “The Human Torch” who can engulf himself in flames and fly, and finally Ben Grimm, also knows as “The Thing” who was turned into a super-strong rock covered being in the cosmic accident that gave all of them their powers. The Fantastic Four have been great allies to Spider-Man in many stories over the years so having them and their resources would definitely make sense showing up in the game to help Miles somewhere along the way.

7. Daredevil

Spider-Man

Matt Murdock is a blind New York lawyer who takes to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen at night to dish out vigilante justice. Daredevil’s lack of sight has enhanced his other senses to an almost superhuman level and makes him fierce competition for the likes of Kingpin, Bullseye, and The Punisher. He has teamed up with Spider-Man a lot over the years and the two make a good team as they share very similar methods and principals.

8. The Punisher

Spider-Man

Frank Castle is a former US Marine who turned violent vigilante after his entire family was killed in the crossfire between two rival drug gangs. This event caused Frank Castle to become disenchanted with the world and take justice into his own hands, he adopted the mantle of The Punisher and kills any and all criminals who cross his path. The Punisher has a totally opposing moral code to that of Spider-Man and the game could use this to create some really tense missions featuring the two characters.

9. Venom

Spider-Man

The symbiote Venom has had many hosts over the years and they have all crossed paths with Spider-Man in one way or another be that as friend or foe. In the early days they originally appeared as a villain but over the years has become more of an anti-hero. For the game, I’d love to see either Venom’s original host Eddie Brock, or the more recent “Agent Venom” AKA Flash Thompson. The previous game did hint at a future Venom appearance so it would make perfect sense to see them showing up in this title it’s just going to be interesting to see in what capacity they will be used.

10. Deadpool

Spider-Man

And finally Deadpool AKA Wade Wilson AKA The merc with a mouth. Deadpool has the ability to regenerate from any and all injuries (including his terminal cancer) he is a highly trained assassin with a huge array of weapons at his disposal. He, like many others on this list, has worked with and against Spider-Man over the year.

I personally would love to see Deadpool used in the same way that Taskmaster was in the previous game, setting challenges to test the player’s skills and ultimately ending in one or more fights. Deadpool’s regenerative ability could also make him the perfect mechanic for a “training room” of sorts, a place to practice your skills and moves.

So there we have ten characters that I personally think would make great inclusions in the upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales game. Like I said all these entries are pure speculation at this point and with all the different universes existing in the Marvel Universe they could actually show up in very different forms than we are used to seeing, but these are just ten starting points for people I would love to come across whilst swinging through New York.
