BLACK WIDOW: DAVID HARBOUR JOINS CAST, RACHEL WEISZ IN TALKS TO JOIN

Marvel Studio’s is rounding out its cast for the upcoming Black Widow solo film. Set to star filming June 3rd, Marvel has locked Stranger Things/Hellboy star David Harbour in a lead role. The role is still unspecified but speculation online is that Harbour could be playing the villainous Taskmaster.

While casting details for the villain seem to match Taskmaster and has called for a British Black or Black actor, it’ll be interesting to see if Marvel Studios had some last minute changes for this villainous role. Now we aren’t confirming that David Harbour is indeed playing Taskmaster. We are just throwing out there what the online speculation has been since this announcement.

According to sources online, Marvel Studios is looking to cast their villains, yes villains first, prior to casting any supporting roles. Marvel has also locked in Florence Pugh for an unspecified role and they are also in early talks with Oscar Nominee Rachel Weisz for a potential lead role.

While the deal has not been cemented. Variety is reporting that their sources say, that these talks with Weisz are heading in that direction. At the moment her potential role is also unclassified.

It seems that both Rachel Weisz and David Harbour will be playing potential villains in this film, while Florence Pugh is potentially in the co-lead role alongside Scarlett Johansson.

Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson and will be directed by Cate Shortland.
