BRIAN K. VAUGHAN’S ‘EX MACHINA’ COMIC IS GETTING A LIVE-ACTION FILM ADAPTATION

Another piece of Brian K. Vaughan’s extensive comic book work is getting a live-action adaptation and its coming to the big screen. Its been a year since Brian K. Vaughan signed a three-year overall deal with Legendary Entertainment. A deal that gives Legendary Entertainment the film and television rights to Brian K. Vaughan’s comic book work in order to adapt it into the live-action medium.

Next in line is Brian K. Vaughan’s Ex Machina. Legendary Entertainment has tapped Seberg writers, Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel. The film will be developed by Legendary Entertainment with Brian K. Vaughan serving as a producer on the film. Despite the source material being titled Ex Machina, Legendary Entertainment will change the title of the film to The Great Machine in order to avoid confusing fans from 2015’s sci-fi thriller Ex Machina directed by Alex Garland.

EX MACHINA

Ex Machina by Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris first debuted on the scene in 2004 under DC Comics imprint Wildstorm. The story follows Mitchell Hundred, a former superhero who becomes the mayor of New York after the events of 9/11. The majority of the story takes place while Hundred is in office with flashbacks to his past as the superhero, The Great Machine.
