MATT REEVES’ THE BATMAN TO FEATURE SCENES IN ARKHAM ASYLUM

THE BATMAN

Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman film is shaping up to be an epic tail for the early days of the Bat. In a new report by Variety, the film is set to feature a handful of scenes in the famous mental institution Arkham Asylum.

Early rumors on the film speculated that the film would entirely take place within Arkham Asylum but according to insiders, those rumors are not true. Those same insiders revealed that if The Batman turns out to be a success, Warner Bros believes that the villains seen in Arkham Asylum could headline their own spin-off solo films. We’re almost sure these beliefs come after Joker’s unexpected box office success over the past month and a half, which has grossed over $1B worldwide.

Additionally, key cast members from both The Batman and Birds of Prey have contractual options to make an appearance in sequels and/or spin-off films. While we do not know who exactly will be seen in Arkham Asylum, director Matt Reeves has teased that a huge portion of Batman’s Rogues Gallery will be seen in Arkham Asylum.

As for Birds of Prey, other than the already revealed cast, we do not know which character will make it to the end of the film or if any surprise cameos will happen.

Birds of Prey and The Batman arrive in theaters on February 7, 2020, and June 25, 2021, respectively
