REPORT: DAREDEVIL AND JESSICA JONES MAY STILL LIVE ON IN THE MCU…IS THERE MORE?

DAREDEVIL

Ever since the cancellation of all the Marvel Netflix shows. The status of the Defenders of Hell’s Kitchen have been in question. And while Hulu has shown interest in reviving these shows when these characters have become available, no real information has been released to the public.

DAREDEVIL

According to a new report from MCU Cosmic, someone VERY IMPORTANT at Marvel Studios really likes the Daredevil and Jessica Jones series. Suggesting that these two heroes are a safe bet to return to the MCU without a reboot. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was just recently promoted to Chief Creative Officer and will now oversee all of Marvel, including Marvel Studios, Marvel TV, and Marvel Comics. Feige is also the overseer of all the Marvel Studios/Disney+ limited series that will be directly connected to the movie side of the MCU.

DAREDEVIL

Seeing how Daredevil and Jessica Jones are both somewhat, unofficially safe from a reboot in the MCU. We could potentially see Krysten Ritter and Charlie Cox reprise their respective roles once they officially join the MCU. There’s no word on the other Defenders/Heroes for Hire, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Frank Castle, and the ABC series Agents of SHIELD are also hanging in limbo.

DAREDEVIL

The only TV series that has been unofficially/officially rebooted is the Inhumans alas Ms. Marvel. Casting for Ms. Marvel is now underway with production reportedly being pushed forward to April 2020 instead of September 2020. Additionally, rumor has it that Black Bolt, Maximus, and Lockjaw will be making an appearance in this show.

What are the potential scenarios for all of these shows and characters? For starters, Daredevil can be used in many ways. He can have a solo series on Disney+ or a solo film. He could potentially have a small role in the third Spider-Man film as you guessed it, Spider-Man/Peter Parker’s lawyer. If we really want to stretch Daredevil out. Marvel can use him, Moon Knight, Frank Caste (if he returns and isn’t recast), to bring together the Marvel Knights.

DAREDEVIL

As for Luke Cage and Iron Fist. We might find ourselves in a scenario where both Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) are recast. We could potentially see The Heroes for Hire fully embraced. A reboot of The Defenders (which probably isn’t likely as Marvel doesn’t like doing the same thing twice), or Luke Cage possibly appears in whatever medium Jessica Jones is brought back into. Comic book readers know that Luke Cage and Jessica Jones at some point in the comics get married and have a child. This is a storyline that was commenced in Season One of Jessica Jones/Luke Cage but was never fully developed as it was in the comics.

DAREDEVIL

As for the Immortal Iron Fist, outside of Heroes for Hire or a potential solo series on Disney+. The best option for him in my personal opinion is to bring him in and pair him up with Shang-Chi. Whether that’s in the upcoming Shang-Chi solo film or a sequel film, that’s all up to Marvel. The latter would be the better option.

DAREDEVIL

As for the A.O.S., bringing them back as S.W.O.R.D. as its been referenced in the tv show and somewhat teased in the stinger scene during Spider-Man: Far From Home, would be the best way to bring them back. S.H.I.E.L.D. is no more in the MCU, and seeing how the MCU is planning going cosmic and we saw Nick Fury in space in the Spider-Man: Far From Home stinger…it’s the only logical option.

DAREDEVIL

As a reminder, this is all speculation on my end. We still have to wait for Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige to officially announce any of this down the line.
