REPORT: THE CW INTERESTED IN A ‘BIRDS OF PREY’ STYLE SERIES SPINNING OUT OF “ARROW”

The CW and Warner Bros. both have expressed interest in producing and developing a ‘Birds Of Prey‘-esque all-female show spinning out of Arrow, starring Mia Smoak Queen/Green Arrow, the future daughter of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak, portrayed by actress Katherine MacNamara. She is to be eventually joined by two Black Canaries, Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake, portrayed by actresses Katie Cassidy and Julianna Harkavy.

According to reports, there have been talks of doing a backdoor ‘pilot’ episode to help get the series off the ground and fill a void that Arrow will eventually leave when the show ends this coming season. Furthermore, the pilot will serve as a lead-in to help generate interest for another show featuring strong female leads such as Supergirl and Batwoman. Both shows currently have been a campaign staple of sorts for The CW in an already stacked superhero line-up which also includes The Flash, Black Lightning and Legends Of Tomorrow.

Stay tuned for more details to follow.
