Hot off the tails of the bloody, yet action packed ending of its penultimate episode. Deadly Class starts its final episode exactly where it left off. Guns blazing, bullets flying and bodies dropping.

deadly class

So how did the finale fare up to the overall season? Given its ending I’d say great. Theres plenty to highlight here so let’s take a moment to kind of break it all down as minimal as possible.

Still here….? Awesome!

Master Lin:

Master Lin spends this episode on the run. Fighting for not only his life but for his daughter’s life as well. As we saw in the previous episode, Chico’s dad wanted Master Lin’s daughter as recompense for hiding the truth about Chico’s death and Maria’s connection to Chico’s death. That’s not even counting the subplot in all that which is Lin’s sister, Madame Gao. Let’s just say she gets what she wants. We’re lead to believe Lin has bit the dust but that’s not made ultimately clear.

Saya, Maria and Marcus:

The love triangle turned deadly towards the end of the season. As jealousy, lust, hidden emotions and personal agendas began to strife it all. Maria and Marcus built a physical and emotional relationship, due to Maria’s involvement with Chico. While Saya stood in the shadows and admired Marcus from a distance or at least she tried. Up until they end up sleeping together. During the ambush a highly anticipated showdown (for me at least) between Saya and Maria finally saw the light of day. Maria just puts two and two together and the battle ensues. Just severing the friendship even more. Saya eventually calls it quits knowing she’s risked more than just her family and her life to be there for others, when duty called elsewhere.

Chester “F***face”:

Chester, Chester, Chester…let’s just say he got the confession he wanted but it wasn’t the spectacle he might’ve wanted it to be. What I loved the most about his conclusion this season was the Game of Thrones homage he received. My fellow Ramsey Snow fans know what I am talking about!

Alma Del Diablo:

Chico’s father Alma Del Diablo eventually got what he wanted. His son. Tasking Maria to find him at all cost or it’ll be her head. Maria while breaking it off with Marcus and pointing out his betrayal to her. Love is confessed between the two and that abruptly ends with the death of a fellow classmate.

Overall this season was great and while the ending might just fall a little flat to some fans, given they read the comics. For me on the other hand who has read a single issue of the comic, kinda saw this kind of ending coming.

Cliffhanger endings are a little mixed with me depending on how its done, but I can’t really complain about how it was done here. There’s plenty of story to tell and a lot more to set up for a follow up season. So given the outcome of it, I think it worked; and I cannot wait for season two!
