As the second season of The Mandalorian approaches, it seems like casting for Ahsoka Tano has been seemingly confirmed by Disney in a new ad
The second season of the new installment in the Star Wars franchise, The Mandalorian, is just a mere weeks away and the second season is looking to be bigger and better than season one. Show creator Jon Favraeu has brought out the big guns and some huge names to the new season. Since the release of the official trailer, its been confirmed that WWE Superstar Sasha Banks has been cast for an unspecified role in the new season, you can see her in the trailer below.
Other names like Timothy Olyphant (Hitman) and Rosario Dawson (Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Daredevil, The Defenders) have yet to be officially confirmed. Most notably Rosario Dawson and her role as Ahsoka Tano. This would make the first ever live-action iteration of the fan-favorite Jedi, the former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker.
In a new ad for from Disney’s Denmark Instagram account. An Instagram story shows an ad highlighting the arrival of the new season thus revealing the names of Rosario Dawson and Timothy Olyphant for the new season. Respective roles for both actors remain undisclosed even in this ad (you can view the ad below).
For those still in doubt about the casting of Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, here’s another hint that the casting is definitely official. In a recent virtual even, Hasbro Pulse, Hasbro announced a Force FX Elite Ahsoka Tano Lightsaber.
Based on the image above which is the official artwork used on the box of the Force FX Lightsaber, it holds a keen resemblance to Rosario Dawson. It has yet to be confirmed as to whether or not this is what Rosario Dawson will look like as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian Season 2 or its just simple promo art for the packaging of the lightsaber.
Given the numerous amounts of appearances of Ahsoka Tano in the Star Wars animated series, it really begs to question or rather leads us to really believe that this serves as the first official look at Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian Season 2.
Rosario Dawson has always been the fan’s number one choice in portraying the character if the character was ever to be adapted into live-action and once news broke that she was indeed in talks/cast as Ahsoka Tano, fans took to social media to praise Disney for perfectly casting the beloved Jedi.
