Our first look at The Witcher has arrived! New looks at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia and Freya Allan as Cirilla of Cintra have been revealed by their respective actors and the official Witcher Twitter accounts, including The Witcher series showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
Pictured below is Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia who first made the reveal via his personal Instagram account.
Also pictured is Freya Allan as Cirilla of Cintra who’s first look was revealed via Twitter and Instagram by the official Witcher accounts.
The 8 episode second season halted production back in March due to the coronavirus outbreak. Filming on the series resumed this past August and is expected to be released sometime next year.
Netflix has recently announced a six-episode prequel series set in the Witcher universe called Witcher: Blood Origin, following the story of the first Witcher and an anime series, also set in the same universe has also been announced. Reports have recently surfaced stating that The Witcher has already been renewed for a third season. Those reports have neither been confirmed or denied by Netflix or the series showrunner.
If indeed true, this would mark the second time Netflix renews The Witcher ahead of its season premiere since season one, when Netflix renewed the series for a second season months prior to its official premiere.
