LEGENDARY MASKED WRESTLER AND INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR, LA PARKA, SADLY PASSED AWAY!

Legendary masked wrestler and international superstar, La Parka, sadly passed away.

La Parka, born Jesus Alfonso Huerta Escoboza, passed away on Saturday, January 11th, after never fully recovering from serious injuries sustained in a match last October. At the Kaoz Lucha Libre show at Arena Coliseo in Monterrey, La Parka suffered a severe head and neck injury following a botched suicide dive when his feet got caught within the ropes, making him hitting his head hard on the barricade and landing awkwardly on his neck in the floor. He was rushed to a local nearby hospital for medical attention after he complained he couldn’t feel his legs  with officials fearing to be a fractured neck. However, he was able to regain feeling in his legs but was on a difficult road to revovery over the past few months.

Huerta Escoboza is the second wrestler to carry the mantle of the iconic character — after Adolfo Margarito Tapia Ibarra, the original La Parka who competed in World Championship Wrestling during the mid ’90s to early ’00s. He was one of Mexico’s top performers for wrestling promotion AAA-CMLL.
